Dear Friend,
 On A Personal Note...
Happy New Year!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and found yourself
surrounded by all the people you love. I received one of the greatest business
gifts ever this year and I am so excited to share it with you!
After three years of patient persistence, we were finally able to secure
centsofstyle.COM. (Yippeeee!!!!!)
As you all know, I have built my business on .ORG and not found it a hindrance,
yet I have always wanted and sought the elusive .COM. I am so excited that you
can now find us at both centsofstyle.org and centsofstyle.com.
I hope this makes finding us a little easier for you and your friends. We
certainly appreciate all of your continued support and kind referrals.
If you haven't already, I encourage you to make looking like a million without
spending a fortune one of your New Year’s resolutions! I promise in the coming
year to continue to help make saving money look fabulous on you!
Be happy! Be beautiful! Be thrifty!
Love and Trust,

 Tips
This time of year drier, cooler air can wreak havoc on your hair. Try your best
to go as long as possible between washings to help make hair less brittle and
susceptible to breakage.
I find that applying all of my hair products, like leave-in conditioners,
serums, pomades, etc., to only the hair below my ears, helps me go two or three
days between washings in the winter. This trick keeps heavy oil producing
residue off the scalp, keeping hair cleaner longer.
Winter also offers a great excuse to sport cute hats, which are protective,
fashionable and effective in prolonging your next lather, rinse and repeat!
 Latest Poll
How often do you wear black?
Well, only 11% of you indicated that black does not suit your style. The
overwhelming majority, 89% of women surveyed, incorporate black into their
wardrobe at a minimum of once a week; most, more than twice a week. So let's
talk about why black is so appealing to so many.
Black is considered a very sophisticated color that goes with everything,
doesn't show dirt and makes us look thinner. All of these things can be true,
but we need to be careful not to fall into a black fashion hole! Wearing black
all the time is too predictable and it slowly saps your fashion mojo!
Truth is, darker colors do naturally absorb the light and as a result, help
make us look thinner. But keep in mind, this means all dark colors, such as
chocolate brown, navy blue and charcoal gray. All of these tones work in the
same way that black does, to camouflage and deflect the eye, but they offer a
richer variance. Color has implied value, and deeper richer colors sweeten the
look of your outfit without spending a penny more.
It is also important to remember that it's the FIT of a garment that will make
you look taller, slimmer, more shapely, not the color. The key to camouflage is
finding your perfect fit and then using color to flatter your eyes, skin and
hair and pull attention to your assets. Color catches our eye and makes us
look terrific, so don't get stuck in a black fashion rut. Turn up your fashion
wattage with color and shine on!
 Have You Tried...
Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Insoles for Women?
These massaging gel insoles were created for open toed shoes, but I recently
discovered that they work wonders in high heel dress boots... For that matter,
these make just about any shoe more comfortable. The other great thing about
these gel insoles is they manage to avoid making your shoes feel tighter like
some inserts do.
If you are on your feet a lot and find yourself avoiding certain heels that you
love, give these insoles a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what
a difference they make!

This Month's Cents Of Style™ Accessory
Suite
This month's jam-packed Accessory Suite is literally
inspired by a stunning woman I saw holiday shopping in SoHo, here in New York
City. She looked so fresh and chic with her beautiful beret, her COACH
patchwork hobo bag and locket necklace. She seemed very confident, strong and
unique... Just how I want you to look!
So, while I was out gathering this month's suite, I found this fabulous replica
of the COACH patchwork hobo bag (retails for almost $300) and I could not
resist putting together a Suite in honor of the stylish stranger. That's what I
love about living in the City... you never have to look far for creative
inspiration... and no matter where you live, you never have to spend a fortune
to look like a million!
SoHo Chic, includes a mod
patchwork hobo bag, that's much smaller than many of the bags I have featured
in the past; a classic, stylish chocolate beret, a layered brass chain necklace
with both charms and heart locket, matching earrings and an elegant brass
mirrored compact for your purse. This Suite is so cool... I just know you are
going to love it!

Sixth Cents - Retro Cropped Jackets with Three Quarter Length Sleeves
|
One of the hottest trends of this, and the coming season is the little retro
jacket. These cropped styles with three-quarter length sleeves offer modern
layering options with a strong salute to the past. Imagine if Jackie O' wore
jeans with her famous Oleg Cassini suit jackets, and you'll totally nail the
look.
|
|
Though fresh looking and fun, be warned. Many of these new styles are a little
boxy and shapeless for most of our figures! So, when shopping for one of these
cute jackets, look for styles that nip in at the waist or just under the bust.
|
|
Never sacrifice your shape for a trend. Our feminine shape is far too important
to put in a "box"! Choose cuts that are cropped and have three-quarter length
sleeves, but still offer shape thru the waist. Don't compromise! With a little
extra effort you can wear this fun trend with flattering flair!
