 On A Personal Note...
The big Accessories Show of 2005 wrapped last week in New York and I am so excited about many of the hottest trends for spring. I scoured every aisle and browsed every vendor soaking it all in so that I can gleefully help you recreate the season’s must-haves at thrifty chic price points.
I know you are still working through winter and are not quite ready to think about spring’s hot things, but I will just give you one tiny hint-y-poo for now! The beautiful sherbet hues you invested in last spring will serve you well this year. Cool shades of blue and green are like last years pink, but don’t worry it will all blend nicely. I promise to keep you up to date!

I've been doing it all wrong!! Have you?
While visiting RUBY BUGONIA salon in LA last week, I overheard a hairdresser instruct her client to dry her hair first, before applying lotions, potions, serums or sprays, etc... STOP THE PRESSES! Hold on there lil' Missy... I frantically dashed over to clarify and make sure I heard correctly!... I mean, I’ve been applying my bounty of products to my wet head for years; and once my hair is dry, I apply more!
Nicole, the hairdresser in question, explained that oil and silicon based products work best on dry hair because oil and water don't mix. When you apply these silkening type products to your hair while it is wet, you are trapping in the moister which won't allow the cuticle of the hair to lay flat. This actually makes your hair appear more frizzy and damaged! HOLY HOOTIE that makes sense!
Nicole insisted that if you dry your hair about 80% before applying your products, you will get a much better result! I tried it and she is totally right!

I remember getting my first charm bracelet on a trip to Disney World when I was seven. There were five gold plated charms representing the key things that I wanted to remember about my big trip. I wore it until all of the gold rubbed off and my arm turned green. I just loved it! When I got married, my sweet David started a "real" charm bracelet for me of our adventures that I cherish with all my heart. When I wear it, people inevitably ask me about the charms, so I always wear it to parties because it is a great conversation starter.

Well, I am thrilled to say that charms are making a huge splash for spring. You will find charms for your cell phone, belt loops, handbags, wineglasses, zipper pulls and of course for your wrist. If you haven't worn yours for many years, or if you were thinking about starting one, go for it. This "stroll down memory lane on a chain", is hot hot hot for spring.
