On A Personal Note...

Happy Valentines! How can you not love a day that celebrates love? So often we get caught up in the "significant other" and/or romantic aspect of Valentine's Day, but why not celebrate the wonders of all types of love and loved ones? Even if you don't have a special honey, I'd be willing to bet you have a special someone who makes your life a little better; someone you cherish, value, and appreciate. Why not remember them this month with a homemade valentine or a token of your thoughts and appreciation. Valentines is simply what you make it, so why not make it about your love... whoever they are.

So if you are feeling like you want to sport a perfect red pucker for St. Valentine, I have just the lipstick. This is the month to buy boots! Every shoe store imaginable will offer give-em-away discounts on boots. All kinds of boots! Snow boots, rain boots, knee-high, ankle; all of them denote a winter time shoe and with spring only a couple of weeks away, retailers are clearing them out. If you want to buy a pair that will still look fresh next fall, look for a rounded toe, moccasin style, cowboy boot inspired, and/or rouche-able shaft. These will be cutting edge come next September!

You Have to Try...

I've always thought about getting professional micro-dermabrasion, but my thrifty nature got the better of me. I've seen friends and colleagues get beautiful results from the treatments, so I've planned to treat myself... one of these days. Well I was so excited to here about the new L'OREAL in home system that uses the same aluminum-oxide crystal technology that you'd find in dermatologist's offices and expensive spas. The L'Oreal kit is about $25 and even though it is a fraction of the professional treatment cost, I still had high hopes for my $25 bucks!

Well... It's worth it! I absolutely love it! I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I can really see the difference around my laugh and forehead lines especially. The lines are less apparent and my skin seems much younger looking! The kit comes with a separate post-treatment protective moisturizer that calms and protects the skin. Make sure to read the instructions on how to use the products correctly and enjoy!
