Dear Friend,
 On A Personal Note...
Happy March! Only a few more days until spring! I hope it is warming up where
you are. We are expecting one more snow here in New York City and then, I think
we are in the clear.
We just found out this week that Starting Over was nominated for two Daytime
Emmy Awards; one for "Special Series" and one for editing. Everyone
involved couldn't be happier. There is so much loving effort that goes into
producing the show and changing women's lives. I am thrilled that the show has
been validated in this way. Congratulations to everyone involved, I am keeping my fingers crossed!
My frantic February is over and I can't thank you all enough for your warm
thoughts and well wishes. I received so many loving emails that kept me
inspired all month long. My special Chicago project was pushed back a bit, but
promises to be super fabulous when I make it to the WINDY CITY and makeover my
patient, yet to be announced, winner. I can't wait!
If you have been planning to set sail with me this October for the Cents of
Style Cruise to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica (WooHoo!) you need to get
those deposits in. Cabins are almost taken. The response has been great and I
am soooooo excited! My toes curl and a smile bursts onto my face every
time I think about it. We are going to have a blast!

Sale Rack
March is often a great month to shop the sale rack for trousers and pants. The
stores are currently stocked with regular/full price skirts and dresses,
because women tend to wear more of those in the spring and summer, so the pants
get pushed to the sale rack. When you hit the sale rack looking for bargain
britches remember:

To optimize your money, shop for fabrics that you can wear all year long (i.e.,
tropical wool, poly blends, heavier cotton blends, gabardines, etc,).

Skip the pleats - Pleats were created so that men would have a place to put
their golf balls while on the course. Most women do not need the extra fabric
and ballooning around the middle that pleats create.

NO tapered legs - A straight legged pant that cleanly falls from the largest
part of your bottom is always a much more flattering option.
-
No high waist - A high waist pant brings attention to your tummy. The best fit
is a waist that falls just around the belly button.
Have You Tried...
 For a while now I've heard about the
super powers of Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat, but I never indulged
because of the $8 price tag. Buying a special top coat seemed like an
unnecessary expense considering my manicure included the salon brand for free.
While getting a manicure last month the lady next to me had her own bottles of
Seche Base and Seche Vite which she enthusiastically claimed made a huge
difference in the longevity of her manicure. She sweetly let me use her Seche
products to try them out... and she was right. My manicure looked great for
seven days without a chip. It seems that this Seche Vite patented formula
allows it to penetrate to the base coat forming a single, solid bond for a much
more durable manicure which will not discolor or yellow. I am hooked!

 Tips
Zip Lock Bags saved me from the cooties!
After a righteous lotion explosion in my luggage a few years ago, I started
packing all of my health and beauty products in zip-lock bags for protection.
As I watched ungloved airport security dig through my carry-on goodies a few
trips back, I thought... eeeeewwww; then I realized that if I put all of
my questionables in a zip-lock bag, the probers could see everything without
touching it! This tighty trick has shaved minutes from my security check.
