Dear Friend,
On A Personal Note...
As I listen to the national weather report, it is safe to assume that Mother Nature is being a
little ornery wherever you are! Here in New York, She is down right angry! Though the mercury
makes it seem like January, I encourage you all to fight the urge to revert back to your drab
duds of winter!
It is spring after all, and what better way to face the wacky weather than with the bright bold
color trend, which always lead to a brighter attitude! So put on your yellow rain slicker, cute
galoshes and remember that all of this rain will have us enjoying beautiful fountains and lush
green lawns come summer. I don't know about you, but that seems worth it!
I'd like to give a big thank you to the fabulous ladies of the Boston Women's Network. I had a
wonderful time meeting you all and sharing my brand of "thrifty chic" closet cleaning! I hope
you are all busy weeding your closets and separating the Donates, Contemplates, Recreates and
Fits-Me-Greats! Good luck and remember, there is NOTHING MORE COMFORTABLE THAN LOOKING FABULOUS!

Tips
If a spring closet rotation and winter storage is in your near future remember
plastic is a big no-no!
There are two ways to save money on your wardrobe, the
first is to spend less and the second is to get more longevity from what you
already own... so the plastic has got to go. Plastic bins, sweater keepers, shoe
boxes, and dry cleaning bags all cause moisture, chemicals, and germs to be
trapped in your garments and shoes which leads to rapid fiber break down and
highly affects the length of wear ability.
When choosing storage bins for your winter items make sure they have vents, or
better yet incorporate natural cotton panels that allow the contents to breath.
This will insure that your favorite sweater and the gorgeous handmade scarf your
sister made you, will all be around for many winters to come! And don't forget
to throw in a couple of moth balls for good measure... they are sure to keep
fabric devouring pests at bay!
Sale Rack
The Spring holidays have passed so Spring Sales are in full bloom. Here's
what to look for this month:
- Luggage - The stores
overstock luggage for spring-breakers so look for delightful
discounts that will get these bulky items moving! Luggage
eats valuable retail space and once spring break is "broke",
stores want them gone!
- Dresses - Retailers pack
the racks preparing for the yearly craving of a new Easter
or Passover dress! Hop quick like a bunny to find great
dresses reduced and on the sale rack.
- Raincoats - If you've
been hankering for a fabulous bright colored rain coat now
is the time to buy it. The stores want them out of site
before May.
- Knit, Knit, Knit - In
just a few weeks many knits are going to feel too heavy in
summer's heat, so stores are pushing them out.
- Hoodies - All types of casual and athletic hoodies are ripe for bargain
pickin... hoodies are not perceived as warm weather gear, so they are in
April's bargain basement!
