On A Personal Note...
I have something for you to think about! Femininity is the most powerful thing
that we "put on" every day... and it doesn't cost a THING!
As I've criss-crossed the country over the past few years working with incredible
women to create powerful, renewed, thrifty chic images, the one constant that I've
discovered is that most of us think that we have to sacrifice femininity for comfort,
femininity for respect, femininity for corporate success. When in fact, appearing
more masculine, uncared for and denying the essence of who we are is extremely DISempowering!
Consider this, the more strength we draw and express from our feminine core
through our dress, make-up and hair, the more impactful we become. Tastefully
embracing the power of our curves, our unique beauty and all of the aspects that
make us amazing women, is actually how we GAIN respect and status. Poise, grace,
beauty and confidence are all qualities that command deference and are the very
lifeblood of femininity.
I've said it a million times, but there is NOTHING more COMFORTABLE than looking
GREAT; and celebrating your womanhood through your image every day, ignites you
to achieve more, accomplish more, communicate more, face more... as you have the
assurance of feminine fabulousity! And in giving yourself the gift of looking
great everyday, you give all those around you permission to do the same.
Think about it! You can do it! I believe in you!

My biggest cosmetic dilemma is?
Finding the perfect foundation is the biggest cosmetic dilemma for most of
you... and I totally get it! A couple of months back I featured a few of my
favorite foundations that offered the best bang for the buck and the results
of this poll made me think I should rerun my thrifty diva advice on this
subject. But before I do, I wanted to offer a little help finding your
perfect shade.
To find the right color for you, use the top and underside of your
forearm. Generally the underside of your arm gets about as much sun as
your neck (underneath your chin) and the top side of your arm gets about
the same amount of sun as your face... So finding a color that works with
both of these areas will insure a great match.
Stripe on a few options and you'll quickly find that your natural
chemistry and melanin kicks in and the perfect shade is illuminated
in about 30 - 45 seconds. Additionally it is much easier to take
your arm into different light, rather than craning your neck and trying
to discern the best shade for you on your face or chin! Just try
it... I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
Now here's my previous advice on foundations I love:
The ideal beautifying cosmetic-cocktail that offers coverage, color, and
radiance is a tough one for many women to find and once you find it,
you're willing to pay anything for it. I mean basically, if your foundation
looks bad, everything looks bad, so finding that perfect "base" is very
important. But, you don't have to pay a lot for a great foundation.
Here are three "Andy Approved" foundations that I've discovered in the
last few months. They all come in under $14 bucks. Give these a try
and let me know what you think!
For Sheer Coverage – Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer – This incredible product
