On A Personal Note...

Have you noticed all of the beautiful dresses this season? I can't remember a time in the past two decades when designers have offered so many flattering, lady-like, fun, feminine dresses.

I discovered this after following my own "SALE RACK" advice from my last E-nnouncement and setting out to find a great new dress at a thrifty chic price... I was thrilled to find that I was knee deep in frocks! Designers have jumped on the "day dress" band wagon and I encourage you to hop on too!

Dresses aren't just for special occasions any more; its time to think of them in a more casual way. And why not? Talk about cool and simple dressing! Dresses are so great for travel and whether at home or away, to change the mood of your dress you just need to change your shoes and accessories. Thong sandals, great beads and a bold tote for day; strappy heels, chandelier earrings and a fabulous clutch for night! (WooHoo!)

Of course, the fabric and detail on the dress will dictate where it falls on the "fancy" scale. Matte jersey, cotton, light weight knits, silk and poly blends with very little or no beading all make perfect options for a fabulous day dress.

So if you are looking for something new and modern to add to your evolving Cents of Style wardrobe, why not try a day dress? It is sure to remind you of how fun it is to be a girl!!

Tips

I wanted to wear my favorite new thrifty chic day dress over the July 4th holiday and realized it was in the dry cleaning pile. I was out of Dryell (at home dry cleaning kit) and with no time to run to the store, my Mom instructed me to mist my dress OR the dryer with a little water and throw in a couple of dryer sheets. She said to run the dryer on the FLUFF/ NO HEAT cycle for 30 minutes to an hour and voila, your dress will be refreshed enough to get one more wear! It worked like a charm. Thanks Mom!!!
