Dear Friend,

Personal Note On A Personal Note...

The hot sticky days of Summer are still here, but my thoughts are drifting to the cool breeze of Fall! I just love Fall. It represents new beginnings for me some how. I relish the whole back to school thing.

When I was growing up the new school year held such promise. Each year right after the fourth of July I'd get so excited about all of the budding prospects of Autumn. New clothes, new friends, new opportunities, new clothes! (He! He!)

There are lots of new figure flattering styles this upcoming season and I encourage you to start thinking about your Fall and Winter wardrobe. Look at your Summer things and determine what items are workable for next season. What items help build shape, create visual balance and make you feel great. Remember that fabric weight, texture and color determine the seasonal use of a garment.

Gauzy fabrics, pastel colors, linen, and light weight cottons are all Summer time fabrics that you should be getting your last bit of use from before you have to pack them away or move them aside. Heavier canvas cottons, tropical wools, knits, matte jersey and poly-blends are all fabrics that can be worn year around and serve as excellent bridge pieces that will see you through to colder weather.

If you do not like what you see in your closet or you feel like you need some help determining what is best for you, just let me know! I am always happy to give you a style boost with a Closet Evaluation, a day of thrifty strategic shopping here in New York City or an all out Beauty Boot Camp! You would be surprised at how changing your appearance can change your whole outlook! Please use our Contact Form to Book Andy.

Be happy! Be Beautiful! Be Thrifty!

Tips

I had a client ask me about a new patch of rash-y pumps that had recently appeared on her forehead and cheeks. She said the pumps were not like pimples but, they were red and irritated. I asked if she had recently changed shampoo or hair products and she confirmed she had. I told her to stop using the new product and sure enough, the pumps went away.

Irritation and/or breakouts from hair products are much more common than you think. The first signs of a reaction usually show up on your forehead. So, if you have recently sprouted a crop of pumps after trying a new hair product, stop using it for a few days. You might find that your pump harvest disappears without a costly trip to the dermatologist!

Summer Soles Have You Tried...

Summer Soles?

I read about these fabulous peel and stick inserts that absorb perspiration and odor generated by hot summer feet. These cute, colorful inserts allow you to wear open toe summer sandals without squishy, sweaty feet and summer flats without socks... or odor! (WooHoo!) I tried a pair and I love them.

You will need to trim them just a bit to make them work with open toe shoes, but it is well worth the effort. I choose a great red pair of Summer Soles that perked up my sandals and gave me happy dry feet! I’m going to get a pair for all of the shoes I don't wear socks with! You can find them at www.summersoles.com for about $7.

This Month's Cents Of Style™ Accessory Suite

AUTUMN WIND is this month's gorgeous Cents of Style Accessory Suite, (thrifty chic accessories all bundled together for an immediate style boost!), that I specifically designed to help you stylishly transition from Summer to Fall. Autumn is traditionally a time when we wear richer earth tones as opposed to the brighter hues of summer; so I filled this Suite with modern accessories that will look trendy, perfectly bridge the season's color pallets and have you looking fabulous well into next year!

The camel handbag is one of my favorite COS bags ever. The faux leather is the best I have ever found... no one can believe it is not real; and the brass detailing helps sell the bag as very very pricey. The watch is a fantastic replica of a feminine "Michele" watch which sells for thousands of dollars. The gold details on the watch make it a modern standout, yet it's not bulky or masculine.

I also super love the necklace and earrings. You are sure to see similar chain and bead necklaces hanging in your favorite department stores this Fall for more than $40 bucks. The color combination of the turquoise, copper, gold, bronze and brass simply looks incredible. I discovered that you can shorten the earrings by 1/2" by wrapping the chain around the French hook which may be better for some of my wonderful petite customers!

This Suite will make a beautiful gift for a fabulous lady with an Autumn birthday. We'll be happy to gift wrap it for you and include a card with your well wishes.

AUTUMN WIND and all of the incredible Cents of Style Accessory Suites are astonishingly priced at just $49.50! I know you are going to love it!

Sale Rack

Back to school bargains are a bonus for us all! Just because you are not hitting the books, doesn't mean you can't take advantage of fabulous back to school discounts at all of your favorite stores. Students heading off to college need sheets, towels, paint, office furniture, bathroom supplies, organizational items and computer equipment. They need jeans, sneakers, tees, underwear, sweaters, jackets... You name it! If a student needs it, it's on sale in August.

Stores are both clearing out summer items on the sale rack and pushing overstocked student basics piled high at every turn. No doubt, Bargain-o-rama 2006 has just begun so don't miss out on all of the savings! After all, I bet you need some of this stuff too!
