Dear Friend,
 On A Personal Note...
With Summer coming to a close, it's time to think about rejuvenating your hair.
Chlorine pools, salt air, hot sun, sweaty days and long exposure to harsh
summer elements have probably taken it's toll on your locks, so scheduling a
little pamper time is a must.
I love home remedies and one of my favorite tried and true hair fix-its for dry
damaged summer hair is a mayonnaise mask. Now before you wince, let me just
tell you, your hair will never be more soft and shiny than after a mayo mask.
My grandmother used to mask my hair with mayonnaise in the summer to make it
more manageable. With all of the hair products that I use and test yearly, I can say with certainty that
mayo works just as well as the expensive stuff. This inexpensive trick will
make you a believer, and the results will easily help you get over your initial
squeamishness.
Wet your hair, squeeze out the excess water, and towel dry slightly.
Apply a generous helping of cheap generic mayonnaise (the cheap stuff always
seems to work best) to your scalp and work through your hair. Make sure that
all of the ends are thoroughly saturated. Cover your head with a plastic bag
and wrap a towel over the bag to seal in the warmth. This will allow the mayo
to penetrate your hair shaft. Leave the mayo mask on your hair for 20 minutes.
Shampoo thoroughly, condition as normal and rinse clean. You will immediately
see a difference in the texture and shine of your hair.
Even if you don't want to try a thrifty chic mayo mask, take a little time this
month to care for your hair and fortify it for cooler days ahead!
Be happy! Be Beautiful! Be Thrifty!
Love and Trust,

 Tips - Know Your Numbers
Knowing your measurements and the lengths and widths of your best fitting
garments can help save you time in the fitting room!
I never go shopping with out my trusty tape measure. Whenever I see a garment
that I might want to try on, I measure the seat or the bust depending, to see
if it will fit me comfortably or if I need to go up or down a size. For
example, I know that my seat or low hip measurement is 42", so a garment must
measure at least 21-1/2" – 22" across the front seat to fit me well and look
flattering. Then I measure the length to determine if it will hit me at a
flattering place. I know that the best skirt length on me is 25" and no more
than 27", so if a skirt measures longer I will need to add in alteration costs
to the final price.
With sizing all over the charts these days, a limited number of garments
allowed in most dressing rooms and tight schedules to find great bargains,
knowing your numbers can save you a lot of time and hassle!
 Have You Tried...
Cover Girl Lash Exact?
This new mascara from Cover Girl has received A LOT of hype because of the
revolutionary new wand. The applicator brush is made of formed rubber bristle
and not synthetic, wiry whiskers, which promises no clumps and more
definition. I decided to see for myself!
I really like it! (yippee!!) My lashes look long, thick and beautifully
separated. It washes off easily and doesn't flake throughout the day. I have
tried every mascara hanging in the cosmetic aisle and this certainly rates as
one of my favorites! It's a little pricey for drug store mascara; I paid $8...
but I found it worth the extra buck or two!

This Month's Cents Of Style™
Accessory Suite
AUTUMN WIND
is this month's gorgeous Cents of Style Accessory Suite, (thrifty chic
accessories all bundled together for an immediate style boost!), that I
specifically designed to help you stylishly transition from Summer to Fall.
Autumn is traditionally a time when we wear richer earth tones as opposed to
the brighter hues of summer, so I filled this Suite with modern accessories
that will look trendy, perfectly bridge the season's color pallets and have you
looking fabulous well into next year!
The camel handbag is one of my favorite COS bags ever. The
faux leather is the best I have ever found... no one can believe it is not
real; and the brass detailing helps sell the bag as very, very pricey. The
watch is a fantastic replica of a feminine "Michele" watch which sells for
thousands of dollars. The gold tone details on the watch make it a modern standout,
yet it's not bulky or masculine.
I also super love the necklace and earrings. You are sure to see similar chain
and bead necklaces hanging in your favorite department stores this Fall for
more than $40 bucks. The color combination of the turquoise, copper, gold tone,
bronze and brass simply looks incredible. I discovered that you can shorten the
earrings by 1/2" by wrapping the chain around the French hook which may be
better for some of my wonderful petite customers!
This Suite will make a beautiful gift for a fabulous lady with an Autumn
birthday. We'll be happy to gift wrap it for you and include a card with your
well wishes.
AUTUMN WIND
and all of the incredible Cents of Style Accessory Suites are astonishingly
priced at just $49.50! I know you are going to love it!

Sixth Cents - SKINNY PANTS!
|
Now, I want you to know that I hesitate to write about this subject, because
"skinny" pants are not flattering on most figure types. But, pant legs are
about to get much slimmer and I want you to be armed with the knowledge of how
to tastefully navigate this dangerous image terrain.
|
|
The most figure conscience way to wear this season's new slimmer pant is to
choose a STRAIGHT LEG that is slim across the thigh and falls straight down
from the fullest part of the hip. Remember that the previous trend, the boot
cut trouser, tapers in slightly at the knee and flairs out a bit at the ankle.
A straight leg will have the same slim width all the way down the leg, from the
seat to the bottom hem.
|
|
This cut will offer the illusion of a slimmer look without sending you into
"taper-ville". Tapered pants do not look good on anyone over 120lbs.! That
counts me out... so even though designers are flooding the runways with skinny
pants and voluminous tops... choose your britches wisely! You can easily get
this modern look without making your bottom look like it is exploding up from
your shoes!!!
