Dear Friend,
 On A Personal Note...
It has gotten cold here in New York and my thoughts have turned to bundling up.
There is no place like NY this time of year and because this is a pedestrian
city, cozy layers are essential.
I spruced up my favorite coats and jackets from years gone by with beautiful
new brightly colored scarves, hats and gloves. This is always the least
expensive way to update your winter look. It's really amazing how those old
coats look fresh and new when topped with a dash of trendy color.
And while I was in the sprucin' mood I ditched all of my old sweaters and knits
that were pilling under the arms, on the sleeves and around the hem or edges.
It is just impossible to pull off a budget-buster look when your sweater looks
like it's been drug behind a truck!
My Good Will pile grew larger as I added a few shapeless, long, bulky, boxy
sweaters that missed last years end-of-the-season closet edit. Ultimately I
figure if it doesn't enhance my shape, it's just taking up precious space in my
closet! I need that space for a fabulous future find that is yet to be found!
The world has far too many sale racks for my closet to be stuffed with
frump-ified sweaters!
I encourage all of you to give your sweaters a hard look! Are they pilling? Are
they boxy? Bulky? Droopy? Do they project the image that you want the world to
see? Perhaps it is time you make a Good Will pile of your own! It won't hurt...
I promise! Besides, it's the season to give, so let them keep someone else warm
for a change.

 Tips - Freeze your fuzzies!
No need to give your favorite (figure flattering) fuzzy sweater the cold
shoulder... just put it on ice!
I remember reading that freezing your fuzzy knits for a few hours helps prevent
shedding, and I recently discovered it totally works! I have a beautiful
electric pink sweater that sheds like a cat in heat. Wearing this sweater
usually means I will be leaving a pink cloud of fuzz everywhere and on
everything... eyelashes, seatbacks, suede handbags, britches... you get the
picture!
I placed my sweater in a large Ziplock bag and kept it in the freezer
overnight. I wore it the next day and it was almost completely fuzz-free! I am
not sure how it works, but I am happy to report that it works like a charm! I
already have my fuzzy scarf chillin' as I write this! (WooHoo!)

I simply love these Dove Daily Hydrating Disposable Cleansing Cloths. They
lather better than any other brand, remove dirt, oil and make-up, leave my face
feeling extra clean and soft and are incredibly convenient. I keep some in my
