 On A Personal Note...
I hope you enjoyed a peaceful, joyous Thanksgiving... and bagged some major
bargains on Black Friday!
Well, no rest for the weary, the countdown to the holidays has begun! Holiday
cards, gifts, decorations, cooking, CLEANING, family obligations, parties,
recitals, travel... eek! My heart is racing just typing it all!
I know you have a lot to do, good golly I do too, but lets all try and
remember that what we enjoy most about the holidays are the laughs we share,
the time we have together with family and friends and the joy of reestablishing
old connections. It's rarely the "things" we remember, it's the emotions we
felt and the people we shared them with.
So, it's okay if the decorations are not hung perfectly or if you serve store
bought cookies rather than home-made. What really matters most is the precious
time you have with the people we care about...and...(pregnant pause)...
finding the most brilliant holiday bargains that will have you looking like a
million, without spending a fortune! (WoooHooo!) What can I say; I have my
priorities (wink!).

 Tips - Cosmetic "Color Guarantee"
For years now, we've all wasted a small fortune on cosmetics from both the
drugstore and the department store that we ultimately didn't like and never use!
Many of us shopped at the department store
cosmetic counters because we felt secure in the fact that we could at least
return it if we didn't like it... sheepishly return it... but return it
nonetheless!
Worse, lots of us "gamble" with our cosmetic choices at the drugstore because
of the cheaper prices and convenience. They just make those drugstore brands
look so attractive and somehow the little packages just hold such promise
sitting there in the florescent lit glow of the cosmetic aisle. But then, we
get home, unwrap the hermetically sealed packaging, try it on... hate it... and
in the drawer it goes, never to be used or seen again.
Well, I discovered a bit ago that Walgreen's and Rite Aid Drugstores offer a
"cosmetic color guarantee" (Alleluia!). If you are not happy with the color of
a foundation, lipstick, eye shadow, blush or any cosmetic item once you get it
home and try it on, you can return it for a full refund within 5 days! The
product needs to be accompanied by its original packaging and receipt, so keep
it all together until you can decide if it's right for you.
Several other national drugstores have followed suit with their own cosmetic
friendly return policy so ask if your favorite drugstore offers a "cosmetic
color guarantee". If they don't, choose to buy your cosmetic at a store where
they do. It could save you a bundle in the long run!

HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR A GOOD FOUNDATION?
Well the votes are in on our latest Cents of Style poll. Almost 60% of you
fabulous thrifty divas are convinced you can get a good foundation for less
than $15 bucks. Just over 30% feel that you need to spend between $15-$25 and
13% believe you need to spend more than $25.
